2/13/10 Valentines Day Show

Greg Duncan and I, Hope Newby, rotate playing the piano – Greg plays one week, I play the next. Tonight it was my turn. We kicked the night off with Take the A Train followed by I Got Rhythm – two of my favorite tunes – thank you very much!

If you’re not aware, the best banjo player in Hamilton County plays in our band. Let me rephrase that … the best banjo player in Hamilton County lets us play in HIS band. I would say that even if he didn’t own the place. Gerald “Catfish” Terry was on a roll with tunes such as Old Joe Clark, World’s Waiting For the Sunrise, Four Leaf Clover, and Gerald’s Medley.

Once again, Indiana weather didn’t deter a good show at the music hall, but we did sneak in It Might As Well Be Spring … and, well … it might as well be! We could use a nice sunny day about now.

Did I mention that it’s the night before Valentines Day? We highlighted the second half with love songs including: Taking A Chance On Love, L-O-V-E, Glory of Love, The Way You Look Tonight, Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime, Valentine Blues, That Old Feeling, and, oh my, Kiss Of Fire … sounds like that could smart!

We have an ever-growing audience – more new faces again this week, not to mention the BEST audience every single week, and such a loyal fan base. We appreciate you so much!
