2/20/10 Florida Blues

Gerald and Roberta went to Florida, leaving this Saturday night show for warm weather and sunshine. You could detect the wistfulness in our song choices: When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin’ Along, Georgia On My Mind, A Night In Tunisia, and Beyond the Sea. A warm, sunny sea, I’m sure.

Ah well, in 23 years of Saturday nights, Gerald and Roberta can probably count on one hand the number of nights they’ve missed. It goes without saying, we missed them, and we missed the banjo.

I’m thinking we should have put more Latin numbers in since Gerald was gone (he always sits out on the Latin numbers), but now that I look back over the list, I notice we didn’t play a single Latin number. Aye carumba!

We’re looking forward to next week when we can welcome them Back Home Again, In Indiana.
