2/27/10 Guitar Boogie

We were tickled to have Harry Davis sit in with the AMH Band again tonight. It’s always a treat to see Harry and play music with him. He brought his girlfriend, Mary, whom we are always thrilled to see as well. We always kid that Harry plays better when she’s there, but you know, I think it’s true.

When we know Harry’s going to play, we always add Guitar Boogie to our list. It’s become his signature AMH song – we have to hear it.

We kicked the night off with Sweet Georgia Brown and Deed I Do. Second half took off with a bang as well with In the Mood and I’m Beginning To See the Light.

I was recovering from a sore throat and was not able to sing, so I got to enjoy the first half of the show as an audience member. Greg played piano the first half and let me play the second half. Once in a while playing “musical piano benches” is fun.

Gerald and Roberta were back from Florida and we were all pretty happy to see them.

Steve Newby was AWOL, but we were not going to pass up a chance to celebrate his birthday - after all, there were brownies! Even though he wasn’t there, we still sang Happy Birthday to him and ate the brownies Sue Bales made for him. Now THAT was a party! Thanks Steve!
